Professional Info
To date over 40 articles have been published in magazines and newspapers across Canada. Sole Survivor, published in the Telegraph Journal in March 2005, led the head of the North American Genealogical Society to travel from New Hamsphire USA to New Brunswick to verify material and visit the remote cemetery I discussed in the article. My research and burial plot information confirmed missing facts for one group who immigrated from Scotland to New Brunswick in the 1830’s leaving a gap of their existence for the first year of their residency in Canada. The same article became the basis for a Celtic song that debuted at the New Brunswick Scottish Highland Games in 2009 and was scheduled for release in 2010
Since I enjoy history it makes sense that my first book should be historical in nature. A Peek Around the Corner, Burtt’s Corner – the Early Years highlights my childhood community. This self-published book launched in the community in July 2011 and makes use of the numerous photos, notes and family journals provided by residents. To date it has sold from Newfoundland to the Yukon in Canada, and from Florida to California in the United States.

SUNSHINE
The sun shines brightly
upon that little hill.
When I have lived my life to end
the sun will shine there still.
THE BIG YARD KIDS
Their front yard is a set of railway tracks. The back yard is the railway siding. In this historical fiction adventure for 8-12 year olds, Nicholas, Claudia and Fletcher live with their parents in the upstairs apartment of the railway station. New to the community of West Cardigan they aren’t long befriending neighbours Sarah and Thomas. When Sarah and Thomas retell the old tale of missing jewellery and the community ghost it’s just the start of their summer adventure.

GULLIVER'S GULCH
The story is told through seventeen-year-old Willy Seymour who lives with his disabled grandfather and two teenage siblings. His father is in Europe in support of the war effort and his mother recently died from pneumonia. As the oldest, Willy feels the weight of the farm and their survival is on his shoulders. Already debating enlistment as a way to save the farm from a tax sale, is Willy forced
to enlist, or does he go on his own? If he leaves, can Donnie manage all the work alone and keep the farm afloat? Willy has read the headlines and details in the local newspapers. He’s seen the families affected by the war. What should he do? This novel is a blend of history, romance and the strong bond of family.
